What does CardMap cost?

CardMap takes a small share of each ticket and table sale. There's no monthly fee, and nothing at all until you sell.

Updated

CardMap takes 2.5% of each ticket and table sale that goes through CardMap's checkout. That's the whole price. There's no subscription, no setup fee, no monthly fee, no contract and no feature tiers. Publishing your show is free.

What the fee is charged on

The CardMap fee applies to each ticket and table sale, after any discount. It also applies to any per-order surcharge you set, such as a sponsor fee. It's never charged on sales tax.

It's taken automatically at checkout. You never get a bill, and if nothing sells, you pay nothing.

What's free

  • Free tickets. Always free, no matter how many you give out.
  • Cash at the door. Sales you record yourself carry no CardMap fee.
  • Invoices paid offline. If a vendor pays you by e-transfer or cheque and you mark it paid, there's no fee.
  • Every tool. Ticketing, tables and floor plans, vendor applications, door check-in, messaging, finance and promotion are all included on every show.

Stripe's processing fee is separate

Card payments also carry Stripe's processing fee: 2.9% + 30¢ per payment in the US and Canada. Stripe adds 2% when you charge in a currency different from your payout currency. Stripe charges this on your own Stripe account. It isn't part of CardMap's fee.

Example: one table at $100.00, paid by card
LineYou cover the feesBuyers cover the fees
Buyer pays$100.00$105.87
Stripe processing (est.)−$3.20Paid by buyer
CardMap fee (2.5%)−$2.50Paid by buyer
Your payout (est.)$94.30$100.00

Stripe's standard rate in the US and Canada is 2.9% + 30¢ per card payment. Premium and international cards can cost a little more. Sales tax is not included here.

You can pass the fees to your buyers

For tickets and for tables separately, you choose whether you cover the fees or your buyers do. When buyers cover them, they see one all-in price up front and you keep your full price. See Can buyers pay the fees instead of me?

What happens on a refund

CardMap's fee comes back with the refund. The part your buyer paid goes back to them, and the part you paid comes back to you. Stripe doesn't return its processing fee on refunds.
